Oh the Port Authority Bus Terminal. It is one of those places in New York that you only go into if you have to. The facility is cramped and dingy. I’m not going to refer to it as a hell hole because that designation goes to Penn Station, but the terminal comes in a very close second. The major issue for the facility is that it has been operating way over capacity for years and has suffered from low investment from the Port Authority. There was a plan a few years ago to do a renovation, but that project was tied to a developer and because of the recession it got scraped. The Times reports that the Port Authority has commissioned a study that will look into ways to improve the facility or replacing it. Hopefully the study will lead to something because something needs to be done.
