I got a good chuckle from reading this article in the Times this morning about co-op board presidents and what they go through. It is a thankless job, but I really don’t feel any sympathy for them. They’re the ones who decided to take up the responsibility. First, it is impossible to make everyone happy. The example of the former president talking about how none of the residents could agree about how to redesign the hallways is a good example. I laughed at his quote ” Suddenly everyone was a decorator” in reference to all the different ideas people had. Two, New Yorkers hold grudges for years. From growing up in a co-op that is definitely true. So read and get a good laugh over the craziness.
