Since New Years Eve is only a couple days away, the Atlantic Cities has published a nice little article about the ball that is dropped in Times Square. I’ve lived in New York City for most of my life (except for a year in California) and have never been to New Years Eve celebration in Times Square. Just doesn’t interest me. The other day, one of the news programs showed footage of workers putting together the ball. I asked me father what he thought would happen if one of those Waterford crystal panels fell to the ground and shattered. He responded, “It wouldn’t be good for the guy who dropped it.” We then got into a conversation about how the ball used to be made out of aluminum with light bulbs attached to it. Oh how things changes.
