This morning I was actually thinking about this Second Avenue Sagas article talks about. I asked my father if anyone over at the MTA actually sticks around for a full term and he mentioned not really. The MTA seems like a revolving door of appointments. No one sticks around long enough to bring stability and vision to the agency. All the current projects have been in the works for decades and by the end of this decade (hopefully) they will be completed. But after, what does the MTA have planned or has the will to do. Mr. Lhota was an appointee who actually was a surprisingly good choice. He has the popularity right now to run for mayor and why not give it a shot.
