Just finished this article from the Times and I continue to not understand why people complain about taxes. I work and every two weeks I look at my pay check and I see my gross and finally my net which is less, but I don’t mind that at the end of the day. Like everybody I would like a few extra bucks in my pocket. I see it more this way, if we want government services (police, fire fighters, roads, defense, and social safety net programs) we have to pay taxes. Also, the Times article points out the fact that Americans today pay less in taxes then back in the 1980s. I don’t really see what all the fuss is about with this yelling about taxes, but then again this country was founded on the idea of not paying taxes.
