This morning, I came across this article in the Times about how Sacramento has experienced an increase in crime after making cuts in its police force. I lived in Sacramento for a bit so I do like reading about what’s going on there. I hate to say it, but what did people think was going to happen when these cuts were made to the police? Crime was going to stay the same? No. If there aren’t boots on the ground actively investigating crimes then things start to get out of control. I’m surprised that that local leaders did not remember that a smaller city nearby did the same thing and saw a massive rise in crime. Less is not more.
